If you’ve ever read a job description and thought, “I do most of this, but I don’t sound like this,” you’re not alone.
One of the most frustrating parts of job searching today is the growing gap between the skills employers say they want and the skills they actually hire for.
Job postings are full of buzzwords, inflated requirements, and vague
expectations, while real hiring decisions are far more practical.
Understanding that difference can change how you position yourself entirely.
What employers say they want

Strategic thinking
Strong leadership
Excellent communication
Adaptability and agility
AI or technical fluency
